Ms. WONG Helen

Ms. Helen Wong works in the public relations profession.  Started her career as a medical and healthcare PR, Ms. Wong has taken up corporate PR positions in various industries including real estate, banking and finance, and business education.  She is currently the Assistant Director of Communications at the Faculty of Business and Economics of The University of Hong Kong overseeing the Faculty’s corporate communications, public relations, media relations, corporate connections, stakeholder engagement, donor relations, alumni engagement and development, event management, external communications, brand management and crisis management.  She also advises the Faculty’s senior management on the development and execution of the Faculty’s PR and communications strategies.

Ms. Wong holds a BA in English and Translation, and an M.Soc.Sc in Criminology from The University of Hong Kong.  She also gets an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from the School of Oriental and African Studies, The University of London.  She is a candidate of Doctor of Public Administration at The University of Hong Kong.  She speaks English, Chinese, Cantonese and Taiwanese.  She is a member of the Hong Kong Public Relations Professionals’ Association and the Asia-Pacific Association of Communication Directors.  Her research interests include political public relations and political communications, the role of news media and new media in society and businesses, how PR/communication tools can be used to help achieve governmental and corporate targets, and to enhance leadership and governance in both profit and non-profit making settings.
