Hung Pham is a Teaching Associate in the Department of Politics and Public Administration. He joined the University of Hong Kong in 2025 after completing his PhD in Political Science at Monash University, Australia in 2024.
His research examines policymaking processes in international organizations, with a particular focus on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Using modern political science theories and methods, his work challenges conventional understandings of the “ASEAN Way” and provides new insights into how regional organizations balance national sovereignty with collective decision-making.
His ongoing research includes comparative studies of delegation in international agreements, member state compliance with regional decisions, and the evolution of policy agendas in international organizations. He has developed a comprehensive dataset tracking ASEAN’s policy outputs over five decades, contributing to the growing field of comparative regionalism.
