On June 20, the Long Service Awards Presentation Ceremony was held at Loke Yew Hall for staff members who have served the University for 15 years or more. Dr. Xiaoqi WANG received her 15-year service award.
We sincerely thank her for her unwavering commitment to the Department of Politics and Public Administration (PPA), and we wish her many more years of continued teaching and research with PPA.
Dr. Wang’s academic interests include Chinese politics, public governance and management, institutional analysis, coordination and collaboration, comparative public policy, and state-society relations.
As the deputy director of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) Program, Dr. Wang has witnessed its growth and development over the years.
The MPA program has celebrated 45 years excellence in delivering exceptional professional education in public administration.
Given China’s social and economic development, the influence of globalization, and ongoing advancements in academic research and educational institutions, senior managers in government agencies, service organizations, and enterprises in the Chinese Mainland are increasingly recognizing the importance of enhancing their critical thinking skills. These skills are essential for effectively navigating a rapidly evolving environment.
In response to the needs of this distinguished group, who are unable to pursue full-time studies in Hong Kong, a part-time HKU-PKU Master of Public Administration (MPA) program was introduced last year through collaboration between the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong and the School of Government at Peking University. This new program enables students to study intensively in both Hong Kong and Beijing over two years.
