The International Relations research cluster within the Department of Politics and Public Administration provides a dynamic, research-intensive environment, specialising in various fields of international relations. Our diverse research and teaching spans international political economy and security studies, covers international relations theory and empirical international relations, and takes advantage of our faculty’s regional expertise in the Greater China region as well as East and Southeast Asian international relations.
Our members have published in top-tier international relations and political science journals worldwide, including American Political Science Review, International Organization, Journal of Politics, Review of International Organizations, International Affairs, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and International Studies Quarterly, among others. International Relations cluster members have also authored books published by leading university presses such as Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press. Our research has also generated real-world impacts in different policy domains such as international development and crisis bargaining.
