The Committee stated that it was impressed with Steinhoff’s research projects and publications on the ethics of war, terrorism, and torture, which “clarify the concepts of these topics and stimulate discussion far beyond the confines of academia.” In particular, the Committee observed that the project “demonstrates its widespread engagement with the local and international communities through radio shows, TV shows, newspapers, magazines, and public lectures” as well as through knowledge transfer to military training facilities.
